Although PPE is the last line of defence; it is still a legal requirement to wear PPE when a hazard cannot be controlled by other means. Most construction sites have strict guidelines which state it is mandatory to wear PPE on site, however knowing the correct way to use and maintain your PPE is very important if it is to protect the user.
This short course will demonstrate the correct way to wear PPE, identify what it protect a person from as well as providing the essential information on storage and maintenance. Upon completion of the course, including passing an assessment questionnaire, candidates will receive a pass certificate.
Course Aims and Objectives
• To provide candidates with the necessary knowledge to select, use and maintained their own PPE/RPE.
• At the end of the course the students should be able to identify key legislation i.e. PPE at Work Regulations 1992, state what PPE is defined as, list the types of PPE/RPE used in their working environment, recognise the correct grades of PPE/RPE, understand how to use and maintain PPE/RPE to ensure its use continues to protect against hazards & risks.
This course can be carried out at one of NBS’s training venues or at a venue of your choice.
