Sarah studied Law and Criminology at Sunderland University before moving into a management position at JD Wetherspoons, working at various locations across the Northeast. She joined Northern Bear Safety in 2021 as Training Co-Ordinator and has steadily grown our training offer both in terms of range and number of courses delivered. Sarah has been integral in maintaining our status as a CITB training centre, with a number of successful audits under her belt. Sarah likes big dogs and has red hair.
After leaving university Andy spent 8 years as an asbestos surveyor, during this time he became the company’s health and safety representative. Andy started his career as a dedicated safety professional in 2011 joining Northern Bear Safety Ltd. He holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and a NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. Andy is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).
Following 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, David started his career as a
safety professional in 2003 as the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager for Wensley Roofing Ltd. After two years he expanded into providing health and safety consultancy to many external organisations through Prosafe Consultants.
In 2008 David was invited to join Northern Bear Safety Ltd. David is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM), as well as being a qualified teacher of post 16 year old students.
Following seven years’ service in the Royal Navy, Jason started his career as a safety professional in 1997 in the railway industry, working for Great North Eastern Railway (GNER) and National Express East Coast. He moved into the construction industry in 2008, originally as Group Safety Manager for Northern Bear PLC before being asked to set up a stand-alone consultancy, Northern Bear Safety Ltd, in October 2008.
Jason is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH), a qualified ISO9001 Lead Auditor and an examiner for NEBOSH, marking both National Certificate and Diploma papers in his spare time.
